The Cape SportsPlex will be one of the largest, state of the art facilities of its kind in the region:
Houses two (2) regulation indoor turf soccer fields which meets FIFA standards including drop down curtains and netting for baseball/softball fielding/hitting, spectator seating, scoreboards, and state of the art audio system.
Hard Tru wood basketball courts which will convert into 6/12 regulation volleyball courts with individual court netting and ample spectator seating
Food and beverage capabilities with ancillary multiuse space for team meetings, coach’s clinics, team parties and more.
Heather Davis has worked with the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department since 2008 in increasingly responsible positions including Recreation Coordinator, Recreation Supervisor and Facility Manager’s for both the Shawnee Park Center, which she opened in 2011 and most recently she has overseen operations at the City’s Osage Centre. She graduated from Missouri Valley College with a BS in Exercise Science and played all four years of college basketball. She was recently promoted to the Facility Supervisor’s position for the new Cape Girardeau SportsPlex in November 2016. Heather was selected by her peers in 2012 as the Parks and Recreation Department’s Employee of the Year. Heather is currently an official for various sports and a certified MSHSAA Basketball Official. She has coordinated and overseen multiple facilities, leagues, tournaments and events in her career and is looking forward to working with you on your events and tournaments in the new “Plex”!
